Terms of service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Duelight you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

2. What the app does

Duelight is a task management application for students. It provides:

• Task creation, organisation and tracking
• An on-device AI assistant for task-related questions
• Calendar views for seeing your schedule
• Integration with Canvas LMS via calendar feeds
• Screenshot-based task import using on-device Vision
• Local notifications for deadline reminders
• Home screen and lock screen widgets

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• All data you enter into the application
• Maintaining the security of your device
• Ensuring any Canvas calendar URL you provide is your own
• Backing up your data as you see fit

4. Intellectual property

Duelight, including its design, code, graphics and content, is the intellectual property of Farpak LLC. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the application for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

• Copy, modify or distribute the application or its content
• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the application
• Use the application commercially without written permission
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels

5. The AI assistant

Duelight includes an on-device AI assistant that suggests and answers based on your tasks. It:

• Runs entirely on your device, using the foundation model built into iOS
• Produces suggestions that are informational only, not professional advice
• May occasionally produce inaccurate or incomplete responses

We make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness or reliability of AI-generated content. You are responsible for verifying anything it tells you.

6. Canvas integration

Duelight can connect to Canvas LMS using your institution's calendar feed URL. By using this feature you acknowledge that:

• We are not affiliated with Instructure, the company behind Canvas
• The connection is made from your device to your institution's Canvas server
• We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of Canvas data
• Your use of Canvas is subject to your institution's own policies

7. Data and privacy

Your use of Duelight is also governed by our privacy policy. All task data is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit or have access to your personal data.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Duelight is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The application will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Defects will be corrected in a timely manner
• The AI assistant will always provide accurate information
• The application will meet your specific requirements

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Farpak LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits or academic consequences, arising from your use of Duelight.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Farpak LLC from any claims, damages or expenses arising from your use of the application or your violation of these terms.

11. Changes to the service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue Duelight at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuation.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continuing to use Duelight after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
